My Grandpa used to always use this squash term to say farewell in his letters. We had the funeral the other day and I was able to have a little to say, and at the end I said that I'm sure his advice would be "play the walls".

I went and watch the Raiders today and they had a good victory. A nice change from the last few weeks. Bumped into a couple of friends on the way in, which was pleasant also. Drank plenty of beers. Also realised with the daylight savings that I gain an extra hour for tomorrow's seven am kickoff, rather than missing out on the extra hour's sleeping ( Read more... )

It's been a while. I have the day off today which is nice. I have a couple of stories that fit well into the long term narrative, probably even past this journal, which I have been adding to on a reasonably consisten basis for more than 10 years. I went and saw the band Like Thieves last night. I wasn't expecting a big crowd as the promotion had been very limited (ie: none), but I thought that "Clint from The Butterfly Effect" would draw a few numbers in. Those numbers were very low though. There were probably about 50 people there and more than half of them were friends of the supporting ( Read more... )
